About Christina Murphy Alchus
The most important thing for me to share about design is that it\'s not just about aesthetics. Design is a problem-solving process that combines functionality, usability, and user experience. Good design should make products or services more intuitive, accessible, and effective, enhancing the way people interact with them. It\'s a blend of art and science, where understanding the user\'s needs is as crucial as the creative aspect. I\'ve coined this \"the science of design\" With over two decades as a design professional, I have been driven by a mission to innovate and inspire. My work has spanned a wide range of environments, from enhancing user interfaces for government agencies to spearheading digital transformations in the private sector. Each project has been an opportunity to push the boundaries of design, integrating the latest technologies and methodologies to create seamless and impactful user experiences. My leadership style is centered on fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement. I believe in empowering teams to experiment, learn, and grow together. This collaborative approach has not only accelerated project success but has also helped in nurturing the next generation of design thinkers and leaders. Beyond project management and team leadership, my commitment to the field is reflected in my continuous pursuit of learning. Staying abreast of the evolving landscape of design and technology, I have enriched my skills through ongoing education and professional development. This dedication has enabled me to bring a fresh perspective to each new challenge, blending traditional principles with innovative approaches. Design, for me, is not just a profession but it is who I am as a person and a way to make a real difference in the world. Whether it\'s simplifying a complex process or creating an engaging digital platform, the goal is always to enhance the user experience and deliver value. My journey in design is a reflection of this passion and dedication, and I am excited about the future possibilities that lie ahead in this dynamic field. With every project, I strive to leave a lasting impact, not just through the end product but through the process of creation itself. It\'s about building connections, understanding needs, and crafting solutions that are not only functional but also meaningful and delightful. As I look forward to the next chapter of my career, I remain committed to exploring new frontiers in design, driving innovation, and contributing to a world where good design makes life better for everyone.
Experience
Senior Product Designer
Jan 2007 — Present · Woodbridge, VA, US
I have bveen supporting the federal government since 2016, I have propelled the company to be a front-runner in providing digital services with a focus on Human-Centered Design (HCD). I have led the revitalizing of legacy systems for complex government projects, enhancing their day-to-day operations while supporting critical missions. Under my guidance, Pixel Creative Services has seen a consistent annual revenue increase since its inception. My efforts in marketing and strategic partnerships have been recognized by the Small Business Administration, and I\'ve played a pivotal role in securing government contracting agreements with strategic partners. My tenure has also seen the successful launch of Pixel\'s Multiple Award Schedule for a range of services under the Federal Supply Schedule with the GSA. Under my leadership, Pixel Creative Services has become a beacon of innovation and excellence in government contracting, particularly in the realms of defense and national intelligence. Prior to Pixel\'s contracting work in 2016, Christina Alchus embarked on her entrepreneurial journey in 2007 as a freelancer under the same name, Pixel Creative. Her early work involved a variety of commercial projects, where she spearheaded efforts in project management, digital design services, consulting, and user experience design and development. This period was marked by her deep involvement in creating innovative solutions for a diverse range of clients, from small businesses to large corporations. These experiences not only honed her design and leadership skills but also laid a solid foundation for her successful transition to a business owner and CEO.
