ABOUT CALLAN-JONES CHRISTIE

I am an award-winning showrunner, director, and writer with more than 15 years’ experience. The stories I create resonate with audiences, attract significant viewership, and garner multiple seasons. My work encompasses broadcasts on Discovery ID, Discovery Science, the Smithsonian Network, History UK, BBC Worldwide, Channel 5, CTV, Corus Entertainment, TSN, Bell Media, Showcase, Food Network Canada, History Television, and TVO. Some highlights of my career to date include:*A Time to Kill (Hours to Kill), S02-03, 52 x 1 hr for Discovery ID and international broadcasters, Cineflix Media, 2020–2021 For this show, I was the Showrunner and head writer. I managed, hired, and coached a production team of 35, including a 5-person research team, a 5- person writers’ room, multiple directors, and a post-production unit of 10+. I directed all expert interviews and portions of the dramatic recreations, played a key role in developing the show’s visual style, supervised scripting, oversaw the edits, adhered to a tight schedule, and delivered the show on budget.*Hockey Wives, 32 x 1 hr for Corus Entertainment, Bristow Global Media, 2014–2017 I wore various hats for this series as the show evolved with my last role being the Showrunner, co-executive producer, and writer. I oversaw production (including pre- and post-) for the series, developing and tracking individual story arcs for a large cast, and interweaving all of them into dynamic episodes. I directed all cast interviews, oversaw production and post teams of 10+ each, interviewed and hired all key crew positions while managing talent, and played a key role in casting for S02 and S03.*Engraved on a Nation, 8 x 1 hr docuseries for CTV and TSN, “The Greatest Team That Never Won,” 90th Parallel, 2012 (Winner of the Canadian Screen Award for Best Documentary Series) As the director, writer, and producer of this acclaimed series, I conceived the film’s narrative and visual approach, interviewed all contributors, directed all scenes, and worked closely with the editor during post-production to ensure the final product stayed true to its initial conception. I\'ve had the great privilege of leading and inspiring teams of 60+ wonderful researchers, writers, directors, crews, story editors and editors, relentlessly bolstering an inclusive, positive environment, and nurturing up-and-coming talent. Nelson Mandela famously said,\"A winner is a dreamer who never gives up.\" This has been a guiding principle for me both professionally and personally.
