Your talent for what you do has less to do with your success than you may think. Growth will be more challenging than it should be if you don\'t know how to effectively share who you are and the problems you solve: online, in the media, at networking events, and in sales meetings. For the first 10 years of my career, I worked in the U.S. Senate, The White House, and in the corporate world, where I promoted big names and learned a lot. I was shocked and embarrassed that the hardest part of starting my own business was promoting myself. To help my business survive, I knew I needed an approach that felt comfortable, which led me to storytelling. I began to intensely study screenwriters, authors, and entrepreneurs to understand how they captivated audiences and drew them in naturally. Many small business owners confided in me that they weren’t sure what to share about themselves online, at networking events, and sales meetings, and they wanted to find out what I learned about storytelling. The heart of my business quickly became helping others understand how their stories set them apart from every competitor. I built an online course teaching small business owners which stories to tell and how to tell them powerfully. I taught 5-week Zoom classes helping business owners uncover, write, and strengthen their stories, then began offering it as a service. Eventually, my business became a PR firm founded on storytelling and strategy, to share more of my clients’ stories with larger audiences to help them grow and realize their dreams. We help brands and leaders strengthen their reputation and thought leadership while building deep, personal connections at scale through podcasting (hosting and guesting), media relations, social media, content, and email marketing.
