About Christie Santoro
My scientific background includes 8+ years studying biochemical and molecular biology including 1 year studying leukemia and 4 years studying type-two diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and 2 years in antibody discovery. As someone who obtained my higher education while completely self-sustaining, I learned the grit it takes to follow a passion. I am passionate for science from the research and design to the project management. In addition to my technical experience, I am passionate about disseminating complex scientific information into an accessible and equitable form to allow for all levels of education to engage. I have shown this through the successful mentorship of 12 undergraduate students and successful teaching of premedical biochemistry students. As my career has matured so have my interests and at my current role at Abbvie I have become the Chair of the Abbvie Pride ERG, where I have been able to advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion. This has lead to impactful changes like flying the pride flag year round at our site.
