I am currently working as a video journalist for the BBC News based in Johannesburg. Previous to this I was the Africa Bureau cameraman and editor. My work has been shortlisted for an Emmy and has won the prestigious David Bloom award presented by US President Barrack Obama. I have also twice been nominated by the BBC for Royal Television Society Cameraman of the year- I mainly shoot produce, direct and edit my own news and documentary films for both TV and online as well as social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook- I can shoot with any camera including DSLRs and shoulder cameras such as the Sony PMW 500- I edit on FCPX and am capable of both fast turnaround news pieces and long-form documentary- I have extensive experience of using BGAN\'s for both FTP and live streaming from many remote corners of the world- Stories I\'ve covered include: The Wars in Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, DRC and Ivory Coast; The 2010 World Cup in South Africa; Both the Beijing and London Olympics; Post election violence in Kenya and many many more stories from across the globe. I am hoping to expand my skills into the broader scope of film making and Journalism and am currently writing my first novel.
