ABOUT CHRISTIAN FARLIN
I am a Data Analyst and Master’s student in Management Information Systems (MIS) at the University of Arizona, driven by a passion for transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support smarter business decisions. In May 2025, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors with a B.S.B.A. in Business Economics and MIS, along with a minor in Government and Public Policy. Through academic research, project experience, and technical training, I have built a strong foundation in SQL, Python, Tableau, Excel, and AWS for analytics and cloud-based solutions.Over the past four and a half years, I have applied data analytics, econometrics, and business intelligence techniques across business, finance, accounting, and public policy environments. I have hands-on experience designing MySQL databases, building data pipelines, developing dashboards, validating and cleaning datasets, and communicating analytical findings to technical and non-technical audiences. My work consistently focuses on data accuracy, interpretability, and measurable business impact. I take an interdisciplinary approach to research and analysis, integrating concepts from economics, public policy, and business to uncover patterns that single-discipline methods often miss.I gained additional experience supporting instructional operations across multiple university-level courses as a preceptor and teaching assistant. I have reviewed and graded thousands of technical and analytical assignments, provided targeted feedback, and led more than 100 office hour sessions to help students understand programming, statistics, and business concepts. This role strengthened my attention to detail, analytical communication, and ability to translate complex topics clearly. As part of the Eller E.L.I.T.E. leadership program, I collaborated with a team to raise over for the Steele Children’s Research Center.My honors thesis applied econometric modeling in Python to examine how partisan control influences U.S. GDP growth from 1940 to 2022. In another project, I analyzed YouTube comment networks using Gephi to identify sentiment patterns across the 2016 and 2020 elections. These experiences strengthened my capability to uncover insights in real-world datasets and convey results through compelling visual and written storytelling.I am actively pursuing Data Analyst roles in the Greater San Diego area where I can apply analytical rigor, technical fluency, and curiosity to help organizations solve meaningful problems and improve decision-making.
