ABOUT CHRISTIAN PAREJA

I am a graduate of the University of Utah\'s Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling, with comprehensive training across prenatal, pediatric, cancer, neurology, cardiology, and public health genetics. My clinical rotations have included well-renowned institutions like the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Primary Children\'s Hospital, and University of Utah Health, where I have delivered patient-centered care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I am now seeking a full-time genetic counseling position where I can apply my broad clinical training, research background, and commitment to patient advocacy. I am particularly drawn to collaborative environments that value patient-center, personalized care. I look forward to supporting individuals and families through informed, compassionate genetic counseling. My passion lies in integrating genomic science with culturally competent, equitable, patient-centered care. This commitment is reflected in my research on how anti-DEI legislation impacts genetic counseling applicants and practice locations, a project that deepens my understanding of policy’s real-world effects on our field. Prior to grad school, I gained experience as a Genetic Counseling Assistant in reproductive genetics and contributed educational materials for patient engagement through Clover Genetics. I also bring strong communication skills from roles in healthcare, education, and museum-based public outreach.
