ABOUT CHRISTIANE MERCHEL

I help employees make sense of change, and feel seen. As a Global Communications Manager at Bayer, I focus on internal communications, engagement, and enablement for transformation, including our move to DSO (Dynamic Shared Ownership).I connect and collaborate across functions to bring great minds and existing initiatives together, so we reuse what works instead of reinventing in silos. I give colleagues with strong messages a voice and a stage, and I’m building a community of internal content creators and ambassadors to amplify our messages and values across teams and regions.I make on‑demand knowledge easy to find, SharePoint hubs, searchable resources, and an internal chatbot, balanced with human touchpoints like coffee chats, Ask‑Us‑Anything sessions, and manager enablement. The goal: people get what they need when they need it, and they have open spaces to ask questions and be heard.I believe communication is most powerful when it’s transparent, people‑centered, and practical, and when we connect and collaborate with respect, meet people at eye level regardless of hierarchy, and treat employees as adults: trusted, informed, and accountable. Continuous feedback shapes our messages, formats, and timing. I draw energy from teamwork and shared achievements.Beyond work, I wear many hats: mom, colleague, mentor, team lead, partner, sister, daughter. Holding multiple roles keeps me grounded and empathetic.I’m keen to exchange on corporate influencer and employee advocacy programs—what works, what to avoid, and how to build sustainable creator communities.
