About Christian Brown
I’m a Senior Legal Knowledge Engineer at Agiloft (CLM) and the Founder of Code & Counsel, where I help law firms and startups integrate AI/ML, LLMs, and business intelligence (BI) into their legal operations.Over 13+ years, I’ve built a unique career at the intersection of law, fintech, and technology. At a leading residential mortgage fintech, I directed legal due diligence and risk for $60B+ in assets while building out a business intelligence and MLOps platform. I designed data pipelines with SQL and Power BI, architected LLM-driven decisioning engines, and oversaw the integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence into asset management and compliance. As Managing Director and In-House Counsel, I founded the company’s BI division and led R&D into large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agent-based automation—bridging executive decision-making with technical implementation. Before that, as Senior Director in Asset Management, I deployed a custom ML/AI system for $20B in mortgage assets, combining deep legal expertise with scalable engineering solutions.Earlier in my career, I practiced as a consumer finance associate at an AmLaw 250 firm and as a Vice President at a Fortune 500 bank, experiences that ground my technology leadership in the realities of regulation, litigation, and client advocacy. With recognized expertise in legal engineering, prompt engineering, A/B testing, AI governance, CLM solutions, and legal automation, I now focus on helping attorneys and legal professionals translate their knowledge into AI-enabled workflows that are technically sophisticated, reliable, and aligned with real legal practice.
