I provide post-death financial coordination for high-net-worth widows, working as a direct extension of the estate planning attorney, trust administration attorney, and CPA team.My role begins at death and covers the first 12 to 18 months of transition. I handle the work that falls outside the scope of legal counsel and tax preparation but directly affects whether both are executed correctly. This includes organizing estate assets for Form 706 filing, coordinating date-of-death appraisals, managing account retitling and trust funding, tracking equity compensation deadlines, flagging Prop 19 exemption filing windows, and consolidating financial records into clean documentation the CPA can use.I work on a fee-only basis. No commissions, no investment products, no AUM fees. Every decision I make is consistent with the legal and tax strategy already in place.Attorneys refer clients to me when they need someone to handle the execution. CPAs refer clients to me when they need organized financial data and someone to make sure the client doesn\'t make an irreversible mistake before the return is filed.

ABOUT CHRISTIAN AMSBERRY

When a client dies, the legal and tax work doesn\'t stop. It just shifts to someone who isn\'t equipped to handle it.The widow is overwhelmed. The trust is underfunded. The brokerage accounts are still in joint names. The stock options have a 90-day exercise window. And you\'re fielding calls you can\'t bill for.I fill that gap.I work exclusively with widows in the 12 to 18 months following the death of a spouse. My job is to handle the financial and administrative execution that falls between your legal strategy and the client\'s daily reality. That means I coordinate directly with you and the CPA before anything moves. I arrange the appraisals before assets are sold. I track down the account statements, the old K-1s, the insurance policies no one can find. I sit on hold with the financial institutions. I make sure the portability election gets filed. I flag the Prop 19 deadlines before they\'re missed.I charge a flat fee for my time and have no interest in displacing your existing relationships or your billing. What I do is protect the plan you built from being dismantled by grief, urgency, and well-meaning bad advice. If you\'ve ever watched a client sell an appreciated asset before the basis was stepped up, spent three unpaid hours helping a widow locate her husband\'s 401(k), or had to explain why the trust was never properly funded, you already understand the problem I solve.I\'m happy to connect for a brief conversation, or I can send you the administrative tools I use during the transition period. You\'re welcome to share them with your clients directly.
