ABOUT CHRISTIANA MYERS

Christiana Myers is an curator, writer, educator, and artist, based in Menagoesg (Saint John, New Brunswick). She works as the Status of the Artist Project Executive within the Government of New Brunswick, focusing on initiatives to improve the socio-economic status of professional artists in the province. She holds a BFA from Mount Allison University, an MLitt Curatorial Practice in Contemporary Art from the Glasgow School of Art, and has completed a certificate in Contemporary Management in Arts and Culture from the University of New Brunswick. She is currently undertaking a PhD in Art History through the University of Glasgow where she is studying metaphorical representations of COVID-19 in contemporary artistic and curatorial practice. She has undertaken curatorial projects in Atlantic Canada, Montreal, Finland, and Scotland, and has worked closely with Third Space Gallery, the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design, and the New Brunswick Museum. Her practice is often driven by interdisciplinary curiosity and explores physical, environmental, or institutional systems. Her writing on disability and access, the role of museums in social change, and the intersection of art with climate justice have appeared in Canadian Art, C Magazine, and publications by the Owen\'s Art Gallery, Goose Lane Editions, and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, among others.
