ABOUT CHRISTIAN LATO

I am a Master’s student in Nuclear Engineering Decommissioning and Nuclear Modelling at Nantes Université and IMT Atlantique. My academic focus includes nuclear decommissioning, nuclear safety, reactor physics and neutronics, with a strong interest in technical analyses related to the end-of-life management of nuclear installations and safety-driven engineering projects.Through my training, I have developed solid foundations in neutron transport theory, reactor core physics, reactivity control, neutron absorption phenomena (including fission products and neutron poisons), and Monte Carlo simulation methods. I am particularly interested in how neutronic behavior, safety constraints and engineering decisions interact in complex nuclear systems. My immersion at the EDF Chinon nuclear power plant, especially on the A1 reactor under decommissioning, confirmed my interest in dismantling projects and technically demanding nuclear operations. Laboratory visits at SUBATECH and GANIL, as well as my participation in the World Nuclear Exhibition, strengthened my understanding of industrial nuclear challenges and large-scale engineering environments.I am currently seeking a 6-month internship starting in April 2026 in neutronics, reactor physics, decommissioning or nuclear safety engineering, where I can contribute to technically rigorous projects while continuing to grow within a high-standard industrial framework.
