ABOUT CHRISTIAN AUSSENHEIMER

Christian has over 6+ years of audit experience in a range of different areas, including information technology (IT), financial statements, business proceses, and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance audits. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelors in Business Administration and Masters in Accounting, he went on to pass all 4 parts of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam prior to starting full time with Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP (PwC). He worked at PwC for over 2 years, gaining valuable experience within the financial services, pharmaceutical, media, and retail industries. In this role, he primarily performed SOX testing and reviews over business processes as well as IT general controls. Prior to starting at Merck, Christian passed the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) exam. Areas of expertise within this role include IT auditing of the system development life cycle (SDLC) process, pre/post implementation review, validations over cloud/data migrations, network security and cyber security analysis, artificial intelligence (AI) policies/regulations, data privacy concerns, and IT SOX compliance. In addition to the IT audit areas mentioned above, he continues to perform audits over financial processes and regulatory requirements, such as Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG). Christian enjoys the opportunity to perform audits in different areas of the business, across various functions, as it unlocks many synergies and new learnings. He uses his data analytic skills to better visualize data and extract deeper insights for clients and management. He often presents these findings to audit leadership as well as upper management.
