Objectives: Transport OperationsSet example in compliance with appropriate legislation in terms of health, safety, and the environment.Undertake all tasks in a safe, secure, and cost-efficient manner, keeping costs within predetermined budgets. Manage transport resource & systems to efficiently deliver optimal, accurate and recorded cargo collection from the terminal and delivery to the location as requested by customers, with whom BDL have approved transport agreements.Write and maintain standard operating procedures that accurately reflect the operations undertaking to deliver safe, effective transport operations that deliver requisite customer service and fiscal contribution. Set up and operate effective systems that record and enable analysis of:a. Costs and revenues to undertake transport services as per tariffs, reviewed and adjusted from time to time as required, to meet agreed contribution targets.b. CBM and type of unit contracted to undertake the delivery. c. Times between a transport order being placed and the order being completed ensuring that deliveries meet agreed target times. d. Service failures & successes, associated customer communications, actions undertaken, outcomes & learnings. e. Demurrage costs, reasons, actions, and rebilling.f. POD status in term of receipt, signature,g. Provide weekly / monthly data and commentary on relevant KPI performance.h. Provision of updates to pricing schedules communicated to and acceptance by customers. Transport operations meet, and preferably exceed, agreed service standards such as delivery times and provision of information to customers and suppliers. Seek to continually improve service to BDL customers and fiscal contribution of transport operations.Manage schedule of cost & pricing for transport services provided and destinations served, reviewing and agreeing such schedules with the General Manager and customers from time to time as market in the supply and demand varies.
