ABOUT CHRISTI MAHERRY
Christi Maherry is a tech entrepreneur and investor, experienced business executive, executive coach, and board member and serves as a judge for various entrepreneurial and cybersecurity awards. She has more than 20 years of experience in the Security domain. From an initial 10-year career in intelligence services, Christi moved into the field of cyber security with a specific interest in identity and trust services. Her experience in this field led her to co-found LAWtrust, a cyber security business focused on using crypto-based security technology to make the world a safer and more authentic place to live and work in. The firm has grown from a two-person start-up to one of the leading cybersecurity companies in the African and Middle East markets, providing hosted PKI crypto-systems used in banking and government and developing software systems for security, fraud prevention and non-repudiation. This led to winning projects for National Identity Systems and substantial banking identity and digital signature systems. She has a wealth of experience in organically growing a business, scaling people and processes to keep up with the complexity of success and global growth, and dealing with shareholder requirements. Christi orchestrated multiple liquidity events for shareholders, one of which was achieved by reversing the company into a publicly listed group, following which she served on the board of the listed entity. After moving to Executive Chairman of LAWtrust, Christi started leveraging her strategic and operational experience as a fractional executive. She assists founders and CEOs through understanding their business, identifying barriers to grow, finding solutions, and developing competitive strategies and go-to-market plans. Christi is a board member of JA Africa, an NGO focussing on empowering the youth in Africa through financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills. JA Worldwide operates in over 100 countries and has been nominated for the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize.
