Oversee and implement the school\'s diversity strategic plan.2. Promote, advise upon, and support curriculum development aimed at teaching and learning. Collaborate with both individual faculty members and departments to develop courses and curricula that include the study of race, gender, ethnicity, nation and nationhood, class, and religion and their intersections. Actively research new pedagogies, curricula, and best practices that address common classroom challenges in teaching about identity, social difference, and inequality, and will train Lakeside’s teachers how to incorporate these into their classrooms. Assist the division directors in recruiting and hiring faculty of color. Work closely with Lakeside’s human resources manager and head of school toward the goal of achieving greater diversity in Lakeside’s faculty and staff.4. Develop student leadership in matters related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Coordinate yearly on-campus equity education programs for Middle and Upper school students; facilitate student attendance at local, regional, and national conferences related to equity education; and, work with the assistant division directors to coordinate the Upper School student affinity group leadership and the Middle School student council.5. Facilitate on-campus workshops focused on teaching adults how to work with all students most effectively and will facilitate and ensure faculty professional growth in understanding the role of social and cultural factors in both teaching and learning.6. Communicate Lakeside’s institutional vision around diversity and publicize the school’s equity and inclusion efforts.
