Christa is a Co-founder of Tacit Edge Product Leadership along with Renee Matsalla, where they created products aimed to demystify the career pathways to include equity, diversity, and a standardized repeatable way of training and developing Product Managers. Product is the future of business, yet access and diversity in this role were elusive in industry On average 71% of Product Managers are white male. Renee and Christa authored and developed an award-winning training program at scale that has officially levelled the playing field of success for anyone entering the Product Management field, regardless of their background. Any graduate from their courses will have an equal shot to their CIS white male peer to attain a product role. This is the future of the product, according to Christa. A role where we all belong. Diverse teams with psychological safety build more successful products, we needed training to reflect how the world has changed and evolved from just frameworks to humans first, frameworks second. Christa is also a founding member of the International PdM Foundation which is the home of the standard for product management education as Tacit Edge continues to grow its education credentialing pathway so that Product Managers can validate their skills and be found around the world based on their level and speciality. Tested and trusted credentials have been created for basic Product training (PdM-T) for product adjacent roles and entrepreneurs, to validating self-taught skills for Product Management Professionals (PdM-P), progressing to Leader roles that support Product-Led Growth (PdM-L), all the way up to standardizing Product Coaching with the support of the international Coaching Federation (ICF). Thanks to the work of Christa and Renee and record-breaking funding from Alberta Innovates, the world now has a standard for the practice that is accessible by individuals, companies, academic institutions and government.
