About Christa Soyars

I am Christa Soyars, a clinical Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Graduate of the University of Florida\'s OT program. I\'m energized by helping individuals throughout the entire lifespan engage in meaningful occupations, increase independence, and improve quality of life and well-being. My undergraduate educational background in public health and psychology, from Meredith College in 2020, also supports my ability to holistically work with clients from a diversity of cultures, family dynamics, and educational backgrounds. I graduated in December 2024 and currently seeking out job opportunities in acute and inpatient rehabilitation settings! My educational coursework included rigorous study of human development, musculoskeletal anatomy, neuroscience, cognition, psychosocial factors, and evidenced-based practice guidelines that will support my ability to develop creative, client-centered interventions. Through the clinical doctorate, I have dedicated an additional year of advanced studies in theory, professional development, advocacy, and evidenced-based practice interventions to strengthen my ability to address all client needs. During my doctoral capstone experience, I learned about instructional design and curriculum development as a teaching assistant. This informed the creation of an online learning module for medical professionals and students on visual dysfunction associated with Parkinson’s Disease, assessment tools to utilize, and evidenced-based treatment interventions to incorporate into clinical practice. Overall, my capstone experience supports my long-term professional goal of continuing to explore clinical teaching opportunities in the future.Throughout my undergraduate and graduate studies, I have had several leadership roles that have equipped me with a plethora of skills to utilize in the leadership philosophy is grounded in my core values of community, persistence, growth, stability, and family. As a primarily visionary leader, I thrive by cultivating an ultimate vision for my team. I enjoy organizing a detailed plan with clearly stated goals in which all members can contribute with encouragement and empowerment. I’m eager to pursue leadership roles in the future within clinical practice, including but not limited to becoming a fieldwork educator, rehabilitation aide manager, and team lead. Thank you for connecting with me as I journey through my occupational therapy career and beyond!
