The CMS Platform Engineer plays a critical role in delivering the best possible developer experience for the Agencies that use our WordPress environment and related software using a wide variety of technologies including Go, Python, Node.js, PHP, React, GraphQL, chef and a cloud-native container-based infrastructure orchestrated with Kubernetes. As a Senior Engineer, I am responsible for taking ownership of product quality, including reliability (backend service and user experience reliability), efficiency (computer, storage, etc.), security (data privacy, data access, detection, etc.) and performance. I drive changes to improve engineering efficiency on the CMS Platform team, such as reducing the time and effort it takes to make a change, develop a new feature, or ramp up on a new codebase. I am responsible for developing metrics to quantify product quality and engineering efficiency, and begin to influence the people around me on these two areas.
