ABOUT CHRIS SANDRO

I have 15+ years of combined experience in financial services, client support, and business process outsourcing, with a strong background in both leadership and finance. I’m currently the Accounts Payable Team Lead at the Public Guardian and Trustee of BC, where I supervise a team of 10 staff managing trust client accounts payable. My work includes overseeing approvals and processing of high-volume financial transactions, resolving complex payment issues, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting year-end reconciliations and audits. I also focus on process improvements, training, and developing procedures that balance accuracy, efficiency, and service to clients. Before moving to Canada, I spent over a decade working in financial institutions across Singapore and the Philippines. I’ve held roles such as Senior Bank Officer, Financial Services Consultant, and Senior Team Leader, where I led teams of up to 18, coached for KPIs, wrote policies and procedures, managed escalations, and collaborated across departments to improve performance. I completed my MBA at University Canada West in 2023, where I expanded my expertise in managerial accounting, financial management, investment analysis, business strategy, and project management. I also enjoy leveraging tools like Excel (advanced functions), Power BI, and Tableau to analyze data, solve problems, and create smarter workflows. What drives me is a mix of service orientation and results orientation—I like helping people, but I also like making sure processes run smoothly, goals are met, and the team succeeds together.
