ABOUT CHRIS MATTOS

I am a qualified accountant and member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. I have over 25 years experience of finance related activities including advising at board / trustee level, financial directorship and running my own accounting and taxation business. I am experienced in virtually all aspects of finance and accounting management, including financial reporting, budgeting, financial modelling and analysis, business planning, international finance operations, treasury including foreign exchange management and process improvement. I bring a wealth of experience from a diverse range of roles which have included; Tax Partner at Randall & Payne Accountants, Finance Director at English Chess Federation and Vizone International Holdings (Malta), Trustee of Wynstones School, Crossfield Institute and The Chess Trust and Editor-in-chief of Tax Adviser Magazine. My most recent role was running my own accountancy and tax advisory business, Chris Mattos Tax, which he built over 7 years before selling it in March 2021 to concentrate on working at i6. WORKING WITH i6 I started working with the founders Steve and Alex in 2015, initially as the company accountant, before taking on the role of non-executive director and my firm providing bookkeeping and payroll services. From March 2018, I have been the group’s Head of Group Finance which included assisting with the initial fund raising and establishing and directing the finance functions in the UK, US and Canada. I am responsible for all financial governance and reporting and providesm strategic leadership for i6’s business and finance functions, as well as for the management of its financial and capital resources. Within those units lie critical business functions including, payroll, financial reporting, accounts receivable and payable, sponsored projects accounting, international operations and financial systems. WORKING WITH FIRESTARTER BUSINESS SOLUTIONS As part of Firestarter\'s continued growth focus, having as served as an external CFO for over 10 years, right from the very first days of the Firestarter business, I have now “gone inside” as Group Finance Director as of 6 June 2022. I will continue to bring me pragmatic and questioning style to the leadership team and looking forward to increasing my formal involvement as the Firestarter business continues to drive significant year on year growth.
