Vera California launched in 2018 to contribute to the movement working in California to end the era of mass incarceration and address attacks on immigrant families. By building partnerships with reform-minded government officials and community-led coalitions—leveraging our national-level research, technical assistance, strategic communications, and local staff based on Los Angeles—we aim to end racial disparities and promote human dignity in the criminal and immigration legal systems.I support the analytics needs of campaigns working to shape state and local policy and practice around jail decarceration, alternatives to incarceration, pretrial justice, and more. I collect, clean, analyze, and visualize data including programming in R, and developing Tableau dashboards.
