ABOUT CHRIS MITCHELL
Dr Chris Mitchell was most recently a Director of audio research for Reality Labs Research (Meta) with responsibilities for teams in US and EMEA. He is currently a business Angel with a specific interest in AI/sound, defence and nature technology businesses. Previously he was CEO of Audio Analytic (as featured in Wired, Forbes and The Times), which he founded in 2010. He was listed in the top technologists globally in voice/sound by Voicebot.ai and is the holder of 31 filled and granted patents. Chris is an internationally published author, and a visiting Fellow at Anglia Ruskin University and an accomplished speaker (Bloomberg, CES, WebSummit.). Following the completion of his PhD in sound information systems and signal processing, Chris received a prestigious Kauffman/NCGE Fellowship to investigate the commercial implications of his research, which included a short spell with Cisco Systems in San Jose, USA. Audio Analytic was founded during his fellowship and Chris went on to guide the company through funding rounds (raising $25+ million), growing it to 50+ people, building it into a leading AI company that worked with household names such as Amazon, Google and Meta and others with its compact ML sound processing capabilities. Audio Analytic was acquired by Meta and Chris went on to be a director of audio research within Reality Labs.
