About Chrisi West

In 14+ years of advocacy and organizing leadership, I have disentangled obstacles across some of the most complex ecosystems, leveraged evolving tech to offer advocacy groups a true digital advantage, and translated intricate policies into actionable messaging. Despite ever-changing challenges and realities, one thing has remained the same: my commitment to lift the voices of the underprivileged, chip away at roadblocks to engagement, and enable the marginalized, stigmatized, victimized, to lead healthy lives—a fundamental human right. I served as Director of Advocacy for national child care nonprofit, Child Care Aware of America. There, I shaped, developed, and executed its organizing and training program. I was instrumental in growing online advocates to expanding digital action centers to battleground states, and extending CHIP funding. Prior to this, I was Digital Advocacy Manager and Digital Communications Manager, catapulting engagement to 1.3MM+ page views, action rates to 65%+, and e-mail open rates 60%+. Before this, I served as Web Content Manager of a national non-profit with members, the Military Officers Association of America. There, I oversaw its digital content ecosystem, including managing a asset CMS, evaluating content recency and relevancy, and growing its Facebook to followers. Prior, I was a Community Organizer and Statewide Social Media Lead for Organizing for America.I hold a B.A. in Communications, Rhetoric from the University of Pittsburgh, and am a graduate of the ASAE Young Professionals Leadership Academy. I’m Board Secretary of the DC Rape Crisis Center, and Site Coordinator and Read Aloud Volunteer of the Reading Connection. I’m excited to continue employing my skills to empower the underprivileged, energized to lead from the front and work hand-in-hand with dedicated advocates, and, at this point of inflection, invigorated to continue changing the world, together!
