About Chris Inzirillo
Jan\'26]Below the dotted line is a reflection I wrote in July\'21.Since that time, I\'ve only logged in a few times a year.Truthfully, I\'m just not a big LinkedIn guy, as it seems to drive an escalation battle of image tactics - gently inflated titles, buzz words about experience and expertise, humble brags about small things - all from generations who claim to hate participation trophies.I also realize that in a post-pandemic world, it may just be a necessary evil.It\'s on my \'26 list to figure out the right way to participate here.Hope to have a better update soon-Many (if not all) of us entered March 2020 with the notion that we were firmly in control of our lives. We KNEW what we were doing, what we wanted, what we needed, what mattered, what didn’t - so much certainty and hubris that we could only be destined for a blind spot. And then we hit one. In terms of change and adversity, March reversed the old adage by coming in like a lamb and going out like a lion. The ’20 pandemic made us question everything - what our priorities were, how to socialize, what we needed to work effectively, and also had some of us wondering, “what is work?”With more uncertainty yet to come during this pivotable period of modern history, I think I’ve had some clarity: Work matters. Life matters. Some people like the two integrated, some people don’t. There is no silver bullet for all - anyone who tries to convince you otherwise is just good at sharing links to articles from their phone\'s news-feed.2020 taught me to pause…pause…and think about purpose. Consider why you do what you do, who it helps, what it contributes to - and if you like all those things, keep going. If not, then stop.If we’ve worked together, you know I quote Seth Godin often. I respect him. He speaks my language.Seth says:“Your art is what you do when no one can tell you exactly how to do it. Your art is the act of taking personal responsibility, challenging the status quo, and changing people. …It’s damaging to build organizations around repetitive faceless work that brings no connection and no joy.”As for me, I’m with Seth - being a part of something outside myself is important. A group, a team, a project, a movement. I want to create, I want to share, I want to build. I don’t need to live outside the box, but I do want to hang on the edges. If any of this resonates with you, I think we’d get along well, so drop me a line-Chris (Updated July\'21)Myers-Briggs Type Indicator: I N F JStrengths Finder: Empathy • Maximizer • Relator • Belief • Futuristic
