ABOUT CHRIS HUMMERSONE
I’m an audio/DSP software engineer with a broad knowledge base and a passion for building stuff. I started my career by completing a PhD in audio signal processing. My thesis sits at the intersection of signal processing and psychoacoustics. After my PhD I worked for 7 years as a lecturer in Sound Recording, teaching computer systems and programming. I also supervised a number of PhD students.After leaving academia I worked in a few different roles covering audio research and embedded software. In these roles I’ve covered the entire development process from research and design through to delivering products. I specialise in audio processing for low-power (fixed-point) systems.Currently, it is my immense privilege to manage a team of super-talented DSP engineers at Sonos, Inc. The team are currently working on headphones.
