As a CSO Partner at Curie.Bio, I combine my drug discovery expertise and seed investment skills to help founders launch therapeutics companies that go on to raise a successful next round of financing. Curie.Bio is a new model for biotech venture capital, offering drug discovery co-pilots and seed investment. Our team has over 200 drugs in the clinic and more than 30 approvals, reflecting our world-class biotech experience and extensive network.I have over 25 years of experience in drug discovery and development, with a recent focus on targeted protein degradation —a novel approach to modulating disease-causing proteins. Earlier in my career, I discovered AZD9496, AstraZeneca’s first oral selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD), which advanced to Phase II clinical trials and ultimately paved the way for a broader SERD franchise, including the second-generation SERD AZD9833, now known as Camizestrant, a new standard of care for ER+ breast cancer. I previously led the drug discovery engine at Kymera Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotech. I filed and cleared 4 INDs for first-in-class degrader drugs for autoimmune and oncology indications. I have also invented and co-invented more than 20 clinical candidate drugs for various diseases, including lung cancer, breast cancer, and acute myeloid leukemia (AML).I am a Ph.D-qualified chemist, a Queens\' College Fellow, and an author of over 70 publications and patents. I am passionate about creating innovative medicines that can make a difference for patients.
