In 2023, I founded the newest AAF chapter in Los Angeles, the 2nd biggest advertising market in the country. I am the President of the organization, responsible for the financial & operational success of our 501(c)6 nonprofit and our Board of Directors which is made up of 17 of the top leaders in the industry, including representatives from Ogilvy, MOCEAN, IW Group, Walton Isaacson, RPA, Getty Images, Mixed Asian Media, Cal State Northridge, Team One and Hawke Media.

ABOUT CHRIS DEGENAARS

Chris Degenaars is a Los Angeles based global digital experience leader, ethics advisor, board officer, and founder. Born and raised in Dallas, TX, he leads Global Consumer Engagement for Giant Group Bicycles, the world\'s largest bicycle manufacturer, with a focus on fostering brand loyalty and community through enhanced onboarding, loyalty programs, strategic partnerships, and personalized experiences. In 2023, he founded AAF Los Angeles, and currently serves as the President of the organization. He’s an advertising ethics advisor, and on the Advisory Council for the Institute for Advertising Ethics. In 2024, he was recognized for his commitment to the industry by being named one of SoCal\'s 32 Under 32 Professionals. He\'s widely recognized for his work with the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the unifying voice for advertising, including as the Founder of Ad 2 SoCal and the 20••••23 President of AAF Orange County. Chris has been a judge for the American Advertising Awards (ADDYS) from 2019 to 2025, a judge for AAF District 10’s Mosaic Awards in 2022, and a judge for the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) in 2023.Degenaars is on the board of directors and advisor to various companies and nonprofits. Currently, he serves on the Institute for Advertising Ethics (IAE) Advisory Council, the only independent body addressing the complex issues of ethical standards and practices across all aspects of advertising communications. Previously, Chris served as a board officer for the nonprofit, Trips for Kids National, the largest and oldest youth development bicycling organization in the United States (acquired by League of American Bicyclists in 2023).Prior to moving to LA, Chris Degenaars was the Director of Operations & Strategy for Long Drive Agency, and recognized as the youngest member to serve on the board of directors for AAF Dallas in its 110+ year history.
