Senior Software Developer @8th Light

At 8th Light, we take a human-centered approach to software design and development, strategically collaborating with the people writing the code as well as those using it. We embrace the need for adaptability in a constantly changing world. We are a team of polyglot generalists — thinkers and doers ready to take on most any challenge that we encounter. Currently working with the Department of Defense to: • Write high quality code in different codebases, utilizing languages and tools such as JavaScript (React), TypeScript, GraphQL, Terraform, Ansible, and Ruby on Rails. • Implement and utilize AWS/Terraform/Ansible for different DevOps tasks, such as CI/CD pipelines. • Regularly sync with clients to provide status updates and to identify and evaluate risks while also presenting potential solutions. • Establish guidelines and on-boarding procedures for a newly spun-up Production Support team. • Contribute to 8th Light by working on internal tools built in React and Rails, supporting our hiring processes and mentoring an apprentice as a support mentor.
