As the Head of Technology Transfer, Chris leads the Strategic Engagement and Applications Development (SEAD) team. SEAD handles broadly three categories of technology transfer at Intellectual Property:• Solicit and manage all aspects of IP portfolio, including patents, copyright, software, and data. • Carry out negotiations for IP licensing transactionsResearch Contracting• Manage SEAD team, who do all non-procurement non-federal research contracting including CRADA/SPP/NDA/MOU/Visitor Agreements with private partners and collaborators. Business Development• Interact with the other DOE labs and the Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) in DOE headquarters, to run programming and guide technology transfer across the complex. • Engage researchers in innovation initiatives to help launch new ventures, educate about IP and commercialization, and generally facilitate all private sector research engagements.
