WORK HISTORY
Senior Lookdev Lighting Artist @Realtime
London, GB
At Realtime I have been working as a lighting and lookdev artist on a range of projects in episodic, games and currently a film project using both Houdini and Unreal Engine. My tasks have included- RnD development of a new lookdev pipeline in Houdini, including building a material library and lookdev template as well as HDA\'s to support this. We also introduced new standards on texture production and naming conventions to work with the new pipeline- Lookdev on all assets on 1 tv project and some assets on 1 games trailer project both in Houdini/Karma. This included working closely with the asset build team to ensure we standardised the textures coming out of Substance so the new loodkev template would allow us to get the blocking out pass very quickly. There was also some Solaris lighting, largely focused on making shot related lookdev rigs. On the tv project We did a lot of hard surface work as the focus of the work was on a plane crash (Lockerbie). On the games trailer project I was supporting other asset artists in their lookdev work to help achieve fidelity and consistency as well as doing tech work to fix any issues we encountered. I also did work on one off lookdev work such as ice spawned off a hard surface asset- Lookdev and lighting work on several unreal projects. This included a large number of interview shots in the latest Codemasters F1 (interview sequences), a frame stylised flythrough shot on the Ground 2 trailer and lately lighting work on 300 shots for a full CG film. All of these were using Path Tracer which presented a number of technical issues we had to fix related to that.
