ABOUT CHRIS WILLIAMS
My 24 years seagoing experience has been on container vessels sailing worldwide, with the last 9 years in the role of Master. I have command experience on a range of vessel sizes, up to the 400m Ultra Large Container Ships, including dry docking, where I was responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, crew, cargo and protection of the environment, which was achieved through the safe navigation, communication, emergency response, and compliance with the international and local regulations. My latest sailing routes have been from West Coast South America to the Mediterranean via the Panama Canal, I am experienced in navigating and operating vessels with ECDIS as the primary Navigation means. I have extensive knowledge of stowage and carriage of containers, including (OOG) out of gauge container cargo, carriage and segregation of IMDG cargo in packaged forms and carriage and care of refrigerated cargo in particular Specialist Refrigerated cargo.
