As the Site Leader of PwC\'s Sacramento office, Chris maintains PwC\'s profile in the local community, helping to maintain local office Assurance, Advisory and Tax clients, as well as in leading local business development initiatives in these areas in a manner consistent with Firm and Northern California Market Council Strategy.Chris is a nationally recognized California Corporate Franchise Tax and Multistate Corporate Income and Franchise Tax expert, who leads PwC’s State and Local Tax (SALT) National Tax Services (NTS) practice as well as PwC’s SALT Income and Franchise Tax Planning function. Chris serves as the Contributing Editor to CCH’s Guidebook to California Taxes.Based in Sacramento and consisting of 25 professionals, many of whom formerly held senior positions at California tax agencies, PwC’s SALT NTS practice serves clients throughout the country as well as overseas in understanding, complying with and legally reducing their substantial California tax burdens through proactive consultation and planning. Where guidance is lacking, differences of interpretation exist or tax disputes with the State arise, PwC’s SALT NTS practice assists clients with the pursuit of refund claims and favorable rulings, as well as with audit defense and dispute resolution. The latter includes representation at Protest, Settlement and, where necessary, with Appeals to the California State Board of Equalization.
