ABOUT CHRIS WALKER
Chris is a Company Director and Board Member at Attain and has been with the organisation since its inception in 2011. Chris has spent the past 16 years focussed on supporting the NHS and currently oversees all of Attain’s business in the Northeast and Yorkshire region (NEY), leading teams to deliver across System, Place and Organisation level. Chris has a real passion for improving services for local people, with a focus on collaboration and integration. Chris’ approach is built on Attain’s Values, aligning the organisation to the NHS and ensuring our approach is both realistic and we deliver the best value to the NHS. Before joining Attain Chris worked for the NHS where his last role was Director of Programmes for the Yorkshire & Humber Commercial Support Unit. Chris established the organisation with £1.9m of funding from the DH, the organisation’s main priority was to drive collaborative working across provider and commissioners to improve quality and deliver financial efficiencies. Prior to this, Chris was an Assistant Director of Procurement with the NHS re:source Collaborative Procurement Hub and was jointly responsible for the full strategic procurement of mental health and learning disability low and medium secure services. Whilst with NHS re:source Chris received national recognition winning the Independent Healthcare Award for Best Public/Private Partnership in delivery of a new step down model for rehabilitation services for mental health patients.Chris has also spent 19 years in the pharmaceutical sector working for ICI, Ciba Geigy and Novartis, the last 10 years of which were working within the commercial and procurement team with Novartis Consumer Health. In 2004 Chris was named Novartis AG procurement professional of the year.
