Seasoned hands on electronics professional with over three decades of experience in Broadcast, RF, communications systems, analog and power circuits. Electromagnetic Compatibility engineering. Active Clearance. Open ONLY to consideration of opportunities in Huntsville or Anchorage. I am a hands on engineer and prefer a role where I am involved with the actual product. Senior Electrical Engineer for a satcom company in Huntsville. In this role I design and lay out PCBs in Altium, serve as an electrical engineer to support our in house manufacturing, provide engineering support to programs, build prototype circuits and cable assemblies. Investigate supplier deviations and redline drawings. Manage labs and electronic test equipment inventory and calibration. Hold IPC 7711/7721 CIS certification for circuit board rework and repair. Over 40 years of soldering experience. Broadcast Engineering experience with high power AM and FM transmitters as well as studio design and construction. M2M, IoT, and and cellular experience. Experience in building and testing RF power amplifier circuits as well as antennas. Society of Broadcast Engineers Certified Broadcast Technologist. I build also most of my own amateur radio gear. Experienced in prototype construction, surface mount component rework and repair. Experience in test fixture design and construction. Experienced in product design and testing. BS degree from North Carolina State University. Experience with BGA rework, lead free soldering and cable building using circular military style connectors. Experience in test engineering and using lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, vector network analyzers and oscilloscopes.
