Chris is a registered PE in ten states and has over 18 years’ experience leading a wide variety of transportation planning and traffic engineering projects throughout the US. His experience includes work on multimodal traffic impact analyses, safety studies, transportation system plans, access and circulation studies, functional design (including interchanges and roundabouts), final design, and arterial corridor plans. He has conducted several dozen roundabout feasibility and peer review studies throughout the United States that regularly include planning, operational analysis, preliminary design of single-lane and multilane roundabouts, developing conceptual design alternatives, and providing geometric design assessment of roundabout plans with regard to safety, multimodal use and system wide considerations. He was a primary author of National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Report 672 which produced the 2nd edition of FHWA\'s Roundabouts: An Informational Guide Chris participates in a wide range of development services and public works projects, many involving various aspects of functional and final design. His experience includes analyzing existing conditions, forecasting future traffic volumes, developing conceptual design alternatives, evaluating the alternatives based on a set of predefined goals, and designing traffic signals, signing/striping plans, and MOT for roadway modifications.Chris is well-regarded for his ability to communicate effectively through design charrettes, public hearings, and one-on-one stakeholder meetings. He has successfully led dozens of public involvement events for a wide range of traffic engineering, transportation planning, and design projects. Chris regularly teaches short courses on topics such as roundabouts and the Highway Safety Manual and frequently presents at professional conferences.
