Prof Chris Smith is now in the commercial sector!I\'ve decided to leave the academic world, and try to get decarbonisation moving via new products and services in the commercial world. I\'ve not left the world of decarbonisation, it\'s just how I\'m trying to do it.As an academic my research primarily focused on mechanics and and simulation, and expanded to encompass simulation (and fabrication) of low and zero emissions am now helping a number of businesses go from innovation in clean decarbonisation products and services, to commercial reality.This includes core innovation in technology, and how to engage with customers, identify opportunities, helping businesses to network within sectors, and navigate government (regional and national) and regulation.
