Description: Reporting to the Permian Basin Asset Manager, collaborating with directional Drillers, Mud Engineers and geo-modelers for well planning, acquisition of relevant data such as pore-pressure and viscosity. This is addition to installation of and maintenance of gasline, drill cuttings recovery, monitoring of gas agitator, logging while drilling and measurement while drilling.• Collaborating with geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers to design well trajectories and determine optimal drilling locations based on geological data. • Monitoring drilling operations in real time, either at the wellsite or remotely, to make geologically informed decisions about drilling progress.• Interpreting drilling data (such as cuttings, core samples, and well logs) to identify formation types, reservoir zones, and potential hydrocarbon presence.• Using real-time data (such as Logging While Drilling (LWD) or Measurement while Drilling (MWD)) to adjust well trajectory and stay within the optimal reservoir zone.• Identifying key markers for hydrocarbon zones and ensuring the well is positioned to maximize hydrocarbon recovery.• Overseeing mudlogging operations and ensuring accurate data collection of drill cuttings and gas readings from the drilling mud.• Identifying and marking formation tops and casing points for optimal well placement and stability.• Interpreting wireline logs to assess reservoir quality, porosity, permeability, and fluid content.• Preparing daily and final geological reports to document drilling progress, formations encountered and overall well performance.• Working closely with drilling engineers, completions engineers, and wellsite supervisors to ensure that drilling operations meet the geological and reservoir objectives.• Ensuring that geological operations align with health, safety, and environmental standards, and that there is minimal risk to the environment during drilling.
