About Chris Salata

As a Partner at PREP Funds, Mr. Salata oversees operations of the firm’s $100MM value-add industrial opportunities fund, deal origination, asset management, leasing, financing, construction, legal, capital raising, and investor relations. He also plays a key role in driving the strategic direction, ensuring strong financial performance, and enhancing the value of the portfolio through active management of properties and relationships.Prior to PREP Funds, Mr. Salata was Chief Operating Officer at Industrial Commercial Properties where he oversaw the daily operations of the Company and the work of its executives. Mr. Salata was involved in all of the Company’s investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, financings and expansion activities. During his tenure, the Company’s value more than quadrupled to $3.5B and the portfolio grew to over 160 properties totaling 47 million square feet with more than 360 tenants. Prior to ICP, Mr. Salata was Senior Vice President of Development at DDR Corp.(DDR), where he oversaw nationwide development and redevelopment initiatives for the publicly traded real estate investment trust and was a member of the Company’s executive committee. Prior to joining DDR, Mr. Salata was a Principal at Fairmount Properties and served as Chief Investment Officer and General Counsel. During his time at Fairmount Properties, Mr. Salata served as the lead project executive on Pinecrest, a $240MM mixed-use development project in Orange Village, OH. Mr. Salata started his career as an attorney with McDonald Hopkins LLC, practicing in the firm’s business department, handling matters related to real estate, finance and corporate mergers and acquisitions.Mr. Salata has earned multiple professional awards, including induction into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame, InCAP’s Top 10 COOs in the World, Crain’s Cleveland C-Suite Award, Notables in Commercial Real Estate and “Forty Under 40” designation and also served as a Mentor in the Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Partnership Forum. Mr. Salata is an active member of NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and serves on the Advisory Board for S&T Bank. Mr. Salata holds an undergraduate business degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
