About Chris Ruggeri

My leadership experiences in M&A, risk, crisis and resilience have prepared me for the ESG transformation taking place across the global economy. I serve as the Sustainability, Climate & Equity leader for Deloitte Advisory. I believe business and government play a critical role in catalyzing the innovation and change necessary to do what’s good and what’s right for people, planet and prosperity. Sustainability is an opportunity to reimagine how we do business and drive outstanding performance through more efficient resource utilization, more transparent business relationships and by creating equal opportunity for all to contribute. I help create value for my clients by bringing together the best of what Deloitte has to offer and through my expanding ecosystem of alliance partners, academics and innovators. I dislike any form of cheating or gaming the system and often think about ways to improve equity in a world where opportunity is not equally distributed. I’m very proud of the stances Deloitte has taken on a number of today’s most pressing issues. No one can do it alone and all of us to play a role in working together to create the future we want and to find practical solutions to make it a reality. Progress is not made overnight.Outside of the office, I chair the Board of Citizens Committee for New York City, a non-profit founded during the 1970’s financial crisis to reinvent NYC’s neighborhoods through resident-led engagement and initiatives. The “hand-up versus hand-out” centered mission began at a time when city government could not provide basic services to citizens and is a reminder of the outsize impact all of us can make in our lives and the lives of others with passion, focus and lot of sweat equity.
