Having already produced the visual effects for a number of feature films, “Red”, “Devil”, “Limitless”, “Red Riding Hood” and tv pilots for “Once Upon a Time” and “17th Precinct” for Zoic, in 2011 Chris accepted the key role as Head of Production for the Zoic Vancouver studio for both features and episodics. With over 30 years experience in visual effects, he oversees the resources and the smooth running of all features and tv production in the BC studio. Recently the Vancouver studio has experienced considerable growth and in 2013 his Head of Production role at Zoic focus\' more exclusively on feature films. The role involves bidding new projects, liaising and communicating directly with clients and seeking out new opportunities. Directing the recruiting of artists and technical resources and managing all feature film teams and projects.

ABOUT CHRIS ROFF

Chris started his career in 1981 in London, UK at MPC and Rushes Post Production, working as an editor and visual effects assistant on music videos and commercials. He continued working as a lead artist and supervisor in these genres, embracing the development of 3D computer graphics and digital technology to design and found in 1989, The Mill, one of London’s leading post-production and visual effects houses. In 1996 he founded post facility, Smoke & Mirrors Productions. Having also established Smoke & Mirrors as an internationally recognized post VFX studio, Chris established a subsidiary company, Smoke & Mirrors Film. He produced the feature film, “Best”, a film about legendary Manchester United soccer star George Best, and the documentary film, “Cameraman,” about the life and work of acclaimed cinematographer Jack Cardiff, which was selected for Cannes Classics in the 2010, Cannes Film Festival. Chris moved to Vancouver, Canada in to produce a CG-animated Television series for Mainframe Entertainment and Fox Television. After producing two further CG-animated movies for Mainframe in the “Reboot” franchise, and a brief stint heading up their motion capture department, Chris returned to his roots in the visual effects industry as a features VFX producer at Rainmaker. At Rainmaker he helped to setup and establish Rainmaker’s first feature film pipeline. Previous to joining Zoic Studios in 2010, Chris briefly formed his own production company and co-produced a drama for the BBC in their “Surviving Disaster” series, and then worked as a freelance visual effects producer on numerous film, tv and video game productions at Rainmaker/CIS, Stargate Studios and at Goldtooth Creative.
