ABOUT CHRIS PUGH

I am a Product Manager for Brooks Automation. I support the implentation of Vacuum Systems solutions to fulfill customer requirements.Prior to joining the Brooks Automation Product Management team I was part of the Global Applications Engineering group at Brooks. My previous role was Business Manager for Semiconductor Technologies at AGAS Electronic Materials, specialising in the distribution of chemical products to the Electronics industry. I have previously worked as a process engineer for a semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing company. I was employed in the applications department, specialising in plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition. Before that I worked towards achieving my doctorate in electronic and electrical engineering. This involved an extended work placement at a prestigious semiconductor capital equipment company. Plasma diagnostics and statistical treatment of optical emission spectroscopy data were the focus of the research. Leading up to my doctorate, i achieved a distinction in a masters degree in nanotechnology. This course focused on many aspects of nanoscale science, from the purest atomic physics to the medical applications of novel diagnostic techniques. A thorough investigation was carried out into the development of oled devices using a reduced number of fabrication steps. My first degree was a bachelors in physics from Bristol university. Many taught and practical courses were followed. A dedicated research project was conducted into a carbon nanotechnology based gas sensor. A simple but novel sensor was fabricated and characterised.
