Starting Grid, Inc. and the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network (ARDN) are tasked with, on behalf of the United Nations, promoting the UN General Assembly’s proclaimed International Decade For People Of African Descent, 20••••24, as well as amplify all 17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through the convening power of art, sport and culture.

   Utilizing art, sport and culture as conduits of engagement - responsibilities include, but not limited to implementing activations and initiatives to help advance the objectives of the International Decade For People Of African Descent (20••••24), as proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in a resolution (68/237) adopted on December 23, 2013. The stated objectives of the International Decade For People Of African Descent are to promote respect, protection and fulfillment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms by people of African Descent, as recognized in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; in addition to providing advocacy support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
