I am a very experienced environmental and construction manager with a track record of delivering challenging projects in a variety of market sectors and development arenas, including rail, energy, tourism, waste, brown field, rural, commercial, industrial and residential. I have proven skills in project and business development, environmental mitigation, impact assessment, waste management, delivery of turnkey projects, sustainability and risk management across a broad spectrum of environmental and general engineering disciplines. Specific skills include environmental management for construction, planning and consenting management, environmental impact assessment; environmental mitigation design, consultation and implementation, waste management across all sectors; brown field and sustainable development appraisals; regulatory authority and stakeholder liaison; contaminated land assessment and remediation design; consent application & negotiations for planning and environmental requirements; and the financial assessment of environmental risk. In my current role as Technical Director for Create Consulting Engineers Ltd I am responsible for delivery of environmental management and general environmental services as well as business development and increasing market share in Scotland. My previous role as Lead Environment Manager for Construction within SSE plc entailed control and management of all environmental aspects of construction across a wide variety of projects being undertaken as part of a larger project portfolio for SHE Transmission plc. During my career I have gained extensive experience in construction management, site supervision, environmental project management, regulator and stakeholder liaison, sustainability appraisals, business development, mitigation design, negotiation and implementation, brown field assessment and development and bid management.
