About Chris McCord
Since graduating High School I have had multiple opportunities and experiences relating to my studies at the University of Tennessee. The summer before college I was in the construction field at ORNL, learning and helping out with as much as I could on the job site of the mechanical room for the upcoming super computer. Since then I have worked part time, and interned over the summer at Gwyn Sales where I have helped out with takeoffs, proposals, submittal, and the parts order process. In my final year at UT Knoxville, when not in class or studying I am 1 of 3 people building a 1600 sq ft house. This is for a private owner who is soon retiring and planning to move in. Through these three experiences and studying Construction Science Management at UT (entailing autoCAD, estimating, surveying, scheduling, management) I am ready to enter the construction career field at Layton Construction.
