About Christopher Mallis
I have successfully defended my PhD in Chemistry Texas A&M University under the direction of Prof. David H. Russell. My primary research projects have included applications of native mass spectrometry and ion mobility-mass spectrometry towards the characterization of small molecule self-assembly reaction products, monomeric proteins, oligomeric protein complexes, and antibodies. Throughout my time in graduate school, I have taught first-year chemistry labs and performed instructional support for first-year chemistry lectures. I have also taught senior-level instrumental analysis for chemistry majors (covering techniques including HPLC, GC, CE, AAS, XRF, FT-IR, UV-vis, and fluorescence).I earned my B.S. in Chemistry from Penn State University in May 2015, where I was actively involved in several clubs at Penn State including the fencing club and Nittany Chemical Society, a student chapter of the American Chemical Society. I also performed undergraduate physical chemistry research under the direction of Dr. Bratoljub H. Milosavljevic.Previously, I have worked in a good laboratory practices (GLP) compliant laboratory while interning with Critical Path Services, LLC. My primary projects included work included sample preparation as part of a field soil dissipation study, performing extractions of soil samples for LC-MS/MS analysis. I have also worked on method development and optimization of an existing EPA method for the extraction and analysis of perfluoroalkyl acids and sulfonates in water samples while interning with CPS.I have attended several conferences, including PittCon \'13 in Philadelphia, PA; ASMS \'14 in Baltimore, MD; participated in the undergraduate program at ACS \'14 in San Francisco, CA; co-represented Nittany Chemical Society at the Spring ACS \'15 Meeting in Denver, CO; attended ASMS 2016 in San Antonio, TX; and presented a posters at ASMS \'17 in Indianapolis, IN; ASMS \'18 in San Diego, CA; and ASMS \'19 in Atlanta, GA; ASMS \'20 virtually.
