ABOUT CHRIS KEEN
I am a principal occupational hygienist at the HSE Science and Research Centre in Buxton. Working with a wider team of experts, from across HSE, and collaboratively with external partners in industry and academia, I\'m involved in a range of work around controlling physical health risks in the workplace. I\'m a chartered Fellow of the BOHS Faculty of Occupational Hygiene, a member of the FOH committee and a Past President of BOHS. I have over 35 years experience in assessing and controlling health risks in the workplace.I have worked with a broad range of industries, including aerospace, construction, chemical manufacturing and supply, rubber and plastics, foundries, woodworking, brick and stone and electroplating. My work has involved measuring exposures, assessing control strategies and identifying reasons for control failure. And, of course, developing practical exposure control solutions, which should be at the heart of all occupational hygiene. I\'ve had work published in scientific journals and trade magazines, and enjoy presenting at conferences and spreading the word on the importance of applying occupational hygiene expertise to protect worker health.
