ABOUT CHRIS L. JENKINS
Chris L. Jenkins is an award winning journalist, documentary film producer and communications professional. Over a nearly 25-year career, he has told and guided stories about social justice, identity and progressive culture, with a focus on race, class and equity. Chris is the producer for the Emmy-nominated docuseries Shame of Chicago, Shame of the Nation (2024); senior story producer for the Peacock series, Field Generals: History of the Black Quarterback (2026); producer and writer of the award winning film Trapped: Cash Bail in America (2020) for YouTube Originals; and producer of the film Anthem (2023), streaming on Hulu.For nearly two decades, he was a reporter and editor at The Washington Post where he covered and spearheaded award-winning journalism around politics, criminal justice, immigration, culture, and race. He has also served as producer and writer for ESPN\'s HBCU Football: Our Time special and story producer for the feature documentary, Van Jones: The First Step. Forthcoming work includes serving as writer and story producer for Hussle, a five-part docuseries on the life and times of Nipsey Hussle.Chris also serves as the Senior Director of Communications at the Institute on Race, Power and Political Economy, where he guides M&C strategy and produces an array of short and narrative films that support the development of a human rights economy. While at The Post, Chris was the author of numerous award winning stories and productions, and was a core member of the paper\'s team that won the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for its breaking news coverage of the Virginia Tech shooting massacre.
