ABOUT CHRIS BELL
Principal consultant working in the Digital Energy team of DNV. I developed applications for customers using a combination of Python, PowerBI and Azure. I also qualify new, novel and digital technologies for use in the energy sector ensuring risks of technology implementation are reduced.I am a chartered mechanical engineer who has PhD background in material science. Holds a masters degree in physics and applied mathematics and is particularly interested in projects using new methods, materials and/or equipment to overcome engineering hurdles. Prior to joining the digital team I worked in the asset risk and technical safety teams of DNV where my focus was on the adoption of new technologies into industry. I have a strong coding and data analytics background and regularly take part in agile sprints to develop new software solutions for customers often involving machine learning, computer vision or complex analytics utilising a variety of data sources.
