My primary function is to acquire permits from the City of Atlanta for cutting and removing portions of sidewalks and replacing them with tree wells. I also scout locations for tree planting, utilize ArcGIS to precisely identify and locate every tree that is planted, schedule and supervise contractors, engage and inform neighborhoods about our planting projects, pilot drones, shoot, edit, and produce videos of projects, and assist and operate heavy machinery when needed. Our goal is to plant trees (within 5 years) in the downtown area to dramatically increase tree canopy coverage and reduce the devastating effects of climate change in our urban area.
